Description

A rich and hearty plant-based meal featuring smoky tofu steaks paired with creamy mashed sweet potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block Extra-firm tofu
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup plant-based milk
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut into thick steaks.
  2. In a bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, soy sauce, and olive oil. Marinate the tofu steaks for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes, then boil in salted water until tender (about 15 minutes).
  4. Drain and mash the sweet potatoes with minced garlic, plant-based milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook marinated tofu steaks for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve the smoky tofu steaks alongside the creamy mashed sweet potatoes.

Notes

Pressing the tofu well ensures it absorbs the marinade effectively. You can customize the mash with herbs for extra flavor.
