Description

A hearty, soul-satisfying dish featuring moist turkey wings smothered in rich, savory gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 to 5 large turkey wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the turkey wings. Coat them with olive oil and rub all the seasonings over the wings, ensuring they’re well-covered. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for better flavor.
  2. In a hot skillet, sear the wings in a bit of oil until golden brown on both sides, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Sprinkle in the flour, stirring to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until it thickens slightly.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Place the seared wings in a baking dish and pour the sautéed vegetable gravy over them.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 2 to 2.5 hours until the turkey wings are fall-off-the-bone tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or cornbread.

Notes

Marinating the turkey wings enhances flavor, and letting them brown thoroughly will create a rich flavor base. Adjust the gravy thickness as desired.
