Description

Soft, chewy Snickerdoodle cookies dusted with cinnamon sugar, delivering a warm and nostalgic flavor with each bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups (358g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup (168g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (310g) sugar, plus 3 tbsp for rolling
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then add vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Mix the remaining 3 tablespoons of sugar with ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 6-8 minutes until slightly underbaked, then cool on a rack.

Notes

Measure flour correctly and ensure butter is at room temperature for best results.
