Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter and brown sugar until creamy.
- Mix in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before topping with spiced cream cheese frosting.
