- 9 ounces firm tofu
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 sheets of nori seaweed
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon finely minced lemongrass
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- For serving: chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the tofu into 12 bite-sized rectangles.
- Coat each tofu piece with 1/4 cup cornstarch and shake off the excess.
- Arrange the coated tofu on the baking sheet and bake for about 25 minutes, turning halfway through.
- Let the tofu cool for at least 15 minutes before handling.
- Cut each nori sheet into long strips.
- Mix 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water to create a slurry.
- Wrap each piece of tofu with a nori strip and seal with the cornstarch slurry.
- Sauté minced garlic and lemongrass in oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, sugar, and 1/2 cup of water to the skillet.
- Place the wrapped tofu rolls into the sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Best enjoyed immediately after cooking, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to two days.
