Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Divide the dough and mix in gel food coloring to achieve desired shades.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions, roll in powdered sugar, and place on the baking sheet spaced 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cracks form and centers are soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
