Description

A fusion dessert made by rolling sponge cake with whipped cream and strawberries, then slicing into sushi-like rounds.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet vanilla sponge cake (approx. 9x13 inches)

1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

1 cup cold heavy whipping cream

2–3 tbsp powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp strawberry jam (optional)

1/4 cup melted white chocolate (optional)

Instructions

1. In a mixing bowl, whip the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

2. Lay the sponge cake flat on parchment paper and trim edges to form a rectangle.

3. Spread strawberry jam over the cake, then layer whipped cream evenly on top.

4. Arrange sliced strawberries near the edge closest to you.

5. Carefully roll the cake forward using the parchment paper, creating a log.

6. Wrap the roll and chill for 45–60 minutes.

7. Slice into 1-inch pieces, garnish with chocolate or powdered sugar, and serve.

Notes

Serve cold for best texture.

Use matcha or chocolate sponge for fun flavor twists.

Mini versions are great for parties or brunch.
