Description
A delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring the luscious sweetness of ripe strawberries paired with creamy mascarpone and a hint of orange liqueur.
Ingredients
Scale
- 14 ounces ladyfingers
- ½ cup orange juice
- ¾ cup orange liqueur (divided into ½ cup and ¼ cup; Cointreau is preferred)
- 16 ounces mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- 16 ounces heavy whipping cream (chilled)
- â…“ cup powdered sugar (sifted)
- 13 ounces strawberry preserve
- 32 ounces strawberries (hulled and sliced)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and ¼ cup of orange liqueur. Use a hand mixer to beat until smooth and creamy. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gradually fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture to create a light and airy filling.
- Prepare Soaking Liquid: In a shallow dish, mix the remaining ½ cup of orange liqueur with the orange juice.
- Assemble the Tiramisu: Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the soaking liquid, and layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers, followed by half of the strawberry preserves. Repeat the layering process.
- Finish and Chill: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for better flavor.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh strawberry slices before serving.
Notes
Allowing the tiramisu to chill overnight enhances its flavor and texture. Consider experimenting with different liqueurs for varied taste.
