- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 8-10 minutes until browned and tender. Add garlic in the last minute of cooking.
- Reduce heat to low and mix in cream cheese and sour cream, stirring until melted and combined.
- Stir in half of the shredded mozzarella and all of the Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top, then transfer to a preheated oven at 375°F and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and serve hot with bread, crackers, or veggie sticks.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing different types of cheeses or adding spices. This dip reheats well and can be frozen for later.
