Description
A deliciously comforting side dish featuring fluffy rice infused with chicken broth, garlic, and spices, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add the rice to the pot and stir for a couple of minutes until it becomes slightly toasted.
- Pour in the chicken broth and add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
- Remove from heat, fluff with a fork, and stir in chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Rinsing the rice removes excess starch, and toasting it adds a nutty richness. Use low-sodium broth for a healthier option.
