Description

A deliciously comforting side dish featuring fluffy rice infused with chicken broth, garlic, and spices, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the rice to the pot and stir for a couple of minutes until it becomes slightly toasted.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
  7. Remove from heat, fluff with a fork, and stir in chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Rinsing the rice removes excess starch, and toasting it adds a nutty richness. Use low-sodium broth for a healthier option.
