A comforting dish of stuffing that blends bread, spices, and vegetables, perfect for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté until they are softened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, and fresh herbs.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth gradually, mixing until the bread is just moist.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth. Consider adding various types of bread or cooked sausage for extra flavor.
