Description

Colorful and fun tie dye cookies that are soft on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside, perfect for parties or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (multiple colors)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until fully incorporated.
  6. Divide the dough into separate bowls based on the colors you want.
  7. Add food coloring to each bowl of dough and mix until desired shades are achieved.
  8. Scoop small portions of each colored dough and combine them into a ball on a baking sheet.
  9. If desired, sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top before baking.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for better creaming, and avoid over-mixing the dough.
