Description

A healthy and hearty turkey chili that’s easy to make and perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), diced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by dicing the onion and bell pepper.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and bell pepper until softened (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add ground turkey; cook until browned throughout.
  4. Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add diced tomatoes (with juices) and kidney beans; mix well.
  6. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover partially and simmer for at least 30 minutes.

Notes

For a spicier chili, add chopped jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper. For a thicker chili, let it simmer uncovered for the last 10-15 minutes.
