Description
A delightful dish blending creamy orzo with succulent chicken and vibrant vegetables, enriched with Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Once done, remove from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it, as burnt garlic can turn bitter.
- Cook orzo: Add the orzo pasta and stir to coat in the infused oil, cooking for 1-2 minutes. Then pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer. Lower the heat and cook until the orzo is tender, which will take about 10-12 minutes.
- Add vegetables: Stir in sun-dried tomatoes and spinach, cooking until the spinach wilts and combines with the sauce, infusing it with vibrant color and flavor.
- Melt the cheese: Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. This will create a delicious, cheesy sauce that binds everything together.
- Plate the chicken: Slice the cooked chicken and place it on top of the pasta. Serve warm and enjoy the delightful heartiness of this dish!
Notes
For optimal flavor, use fresh chicken and high-quality ingredients, such as freshly grated Parmesan and fresh vegetables.
