Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract after.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are light golden brown.
  7. Quickly press a spoonful of caramel sauce into the center of each cookie once they are out of the oven.
  8. Let cookies cool slightly, then sprinkle chocolate chips over them.
  9. Garnish with sea salt if desired.
  10. Cool completely before serving.
