- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil the elbow macaroni until al dente.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar, Gruyère, and cream cheese until melted.
- Mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
- Pour into a greased baking dish.
- Mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and cheese is bubbling.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving.
