Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil the elbow macaroni until al dente.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar, Gruyère, and cream cheese until melted.
  6. Mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  7. Pour into a greased baking dish.
  8. Mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.
