Description

A dreamy dessert that marries classic Italian tiramisu with aromatic Earl Grey tea, featuring silky mascarpone and soft ladyfingers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Earl Grey tea, brewed and cooled
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Brew the Earl Grey tea and let it cool.
  2. Start by brewing a strong cup of Earl Grey tea. The flavor of the tea is essential to incorporate that distinct bergamot essence into your tiramisu, so let it steep longer than usual before cooling it.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  4. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, whip the heavy cream until it reaches soft peaks. This step adds fluffy texture, making your dessert feel lighter and airy.
  5. In another bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Blend the mascarpone, sugar, and vanilla together until well combined and creamy. This mixture will become the luscious base of your tiramisu.
  7. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture gently.
  8. Use a spatula to carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture. Be gentle to maintain the airiness—that’s what gives your dessert its delightful texture.
  9. Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the cooled tea, then layer them at the bottom of your serving dish.
  10. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the tea. Don’t let them soak too long; you want them moist but not soggy.
  11. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  12. Once the ladyfingers are in place, smooth half of the mascarpone mixture over them, ensuring an even layer.
  13. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers dipped in tea and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  14. Follow the same steps to add another layer of ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  15. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  16. Allowing the tiramisu to chill is crucial for allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  17. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
  18. Just before you serve, dust a generous amount of cocoa powder on top for that classic tiramisu touch.

Notes

For a more robust flavor, brew your Earl Grey a little stronger. Chill overnight for best results.
