Description
A comforting dish featuring tender chicken in a creamy, savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions become translucent, around 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and scrape any brown bits from the bottom of the pan for extra flavor. Stir in the heavy cream and thyme, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, ensuring it’s coated in the creamy sauce. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving and pour extra sauce over the chicken.
Notes
For even cooking, pound the chicken to an even thickness. You can also adjust the sauce thickness with cornstarch or simmering longer.
