- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Festive sprinkles (optional)
- White chocolate (for drizzle, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- If desired, add festive sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden and the center is soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Optional: Drizzle with melted white chocolate once cooled.
Notes
Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for better flavor and texture. Use room temperature butter for the best results.
