Description

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Festive sprinkles (optional)
  • White chocolate (for drizzle, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  8. If desired, add festive sprinkles on top.
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden and the center is soft.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  11. Optional: Drizzle with melted white chocolate once cooled.
