- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Festive sprinkles (optional)
- White chocolate for drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla until well blended.
- Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are nicely golden.
- Let cookies cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Optionally, decorate with festive sprinkles or drizzle melted white chocolate on top.
Notes
Use softened butter for best results. Optionally chill dough for richer flavor.
