- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Lay out an egg roll wrapper and place a few tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture and a spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center.
- Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crisp, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding a bit of lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture. If you want to bake instead of fry, brush the egg rolls with melted butter and bake at 400°F until golden brown.
