Description
A delicious calzone filled with creamy chicken and cheese, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
- 1 cup cooked chicken, diced or shredded
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped spinach or sautéed mushrooms
- Extra Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cooked chicken, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, Alfredo sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well. If using optional vegetables, fold them in.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle about 6–8 inches in diameter on a lightly floured surface.
- Spoon the filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving about ½ inch around the edge. Fold the dough over to enclose the filling. Press the edges together and crimp with a fork to seal.
- Brush the tops of the calzones with olive oil and cut a small slit in the top of each calzone to allow steam to escape.
- Place calzones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let calzones cool for 2–3 minutes before serving. Serve with extra Alfredo or marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Use high-quality Alfredo sauce for the best flavor. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables.
