Description
A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with spaghetti, garlic, and olive oil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
- Prepare the Garlic Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Combine Spaghetti and Sauce: Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta in the oil. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Season: Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt. Toss in chopped parsley for freshness.
- Serve: Plate the spaghetti and, if desired, top with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Make sure to watch the garlic closely to avoid burning. Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or tomatoes for extra nutrition.
