Description
A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- ½ cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat the pasta in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
- Add salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
- Plate the spaghetti and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if using.
Notes
Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
