Description

A delightful rustic tart combining ripe peaches with flaky pastry, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 45 Ripe peaches, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 Pre-made pie crust or puff pastry
  • 1 Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter, cut into small pieces
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the sliced peaches, sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Stir gently and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pie crust or puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Place the peach mixture in the center of the crust, leaving a 2-inch border.
  5. Fold the edges of the crust over the peaches, pleating as necessary.
  6. Brush the crust with beaten egg and dot the peaches with small pieces of butter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the peaches are tender.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the peaches. Serve with vanilla ice cream for added delight.
