- 1 box of cake mix (yellow or white)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for coating
- Festive sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, cream cheese, butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes for easier handling.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls.
- Roll each ball in powdered sugar until well coated.
- Place the dough balls on a lined baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are slightly underdone.
- Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Optional: Add festive sprinkles before serving.
Notes
Make sure the cream cheese and butter are at room temperature. Chilling the dough helps with rolling and shaping. Don’t overbake!
