Description
Delicious jumbo pasta shells filled with a creamy cheese mixture and topped with marinara sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook jumbo pasta shells in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper until creamy.
- Generously fill each shell with the cheese mixture and place them seam-side up in a baking dish.
- Pour marinara sauce over the shells and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Make sure not to overcook the pasta; you’ll want it firm so it holds the filling well. For extra flavor, add garlic or onion powder to the cheese mixture.
