A classic dessert that combines sweet, juicy peaches with a buttery, fluffy topping, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches with half the sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually stir in milk and melted butter until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Spoon the peaches over the batter, making sure to distribute them evenly.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

For extra richness, consider using buttermilk instead of regular milk. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an enhanced dessert experience.
