Description
Deliciously soft pumpkin cinnamon rolls topped with a creamy maple frosting, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- For the Frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Add sugar and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
- Stir in the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread melted butter over it, then sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and other spices.
- Roll the dough tightly, slice it into rolls, and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- For the frosting, whisk together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
- Frost the warm rolls and serve.
Notes
Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, when you dissolve the yeast. Kneading the dough well helps create a fluffy texture. For an extra touch, add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling before rolling.
