Description

Deliciously soft pumpkin cinnamon rolls topped with a creamy maple frosting, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Frosting:
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Add sugar and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  3. Stir in the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread melted butter over it, then sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and other spices.
  6. Roll the dough tightly, slice it into rolls, and place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  9. For the frosting, whisk together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Frost the warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, when you dissolve the yeast. Kneading the dough well helps create a fluffy texture. For an extra touch, add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling before rolling.
